Terms & disclaimer

Plain English, because that's how the rest of the site talks too.

Guidance is general

Everything on this site, the guides, the recommendations, the Talk It Through tool, is general guidance written for typical Newcastle homes. It is not a specification, a quotation or advice about your specific windows. Final material, sizing, mounting and suitability decisions are made at a professional in-home measure, which is exactly why the measure exists and why it's free.

No prices here, deliberately

Every shutter is made to measure, so this site carries no prices and no price estimates. Any figure you infer from reading the site is your own; the only number that counts is a written quote following a real measure.

Images and examples

Some images are illustrative (stock or generated) and depict the kind of work described rather than a specific completed job. Worked examples in the guides and the schedule tool are exactly that: examples.

How your enquiry is handled

We're a guide: when you enquire, we may share your enquiry with a suitable local provider to service your request. The measure, quote and any subsequent contract for supply and installation are between you and that provider. Nothing on this site forms a contract for the supply or installation of anything.

DIY content

The hands-on guides (measuring, minor fixes) describe simple, common tasks. Use your judgement and your own risk assessment; if a job feels beyond a screwdriver and a step, it probably is, and the enquiry form is the safer tool.

External links

We link to government and authority sources where the site makes factual claims. Those sites are their own; we don't control them.

Nothing here is legal, building or planning advice

Where the site mentions planning or heritage rules, it points to the responsible authority. Check the primary source, or ask the provider at your measure.

These terms describe how this website works today and are kept current when that changes.
